Banovich Wildscape Fund benefits TMF
John Banovich is a world-renown wildlife artist and active conservationist with a special interest in and admiration for African mammals. His newest project will focus on the mountain nyala. In January 2006, John joined TMF in the Bale Mountains of Ethiopia to make close-up observations of the animals and their habitat and to learn as much as he could about the behavior and biology of the species. John began his trip at Bale Mountains National Park to take photographs and observe the mountain nyala's behavior at closer range. The company then moved to the Odo Bulu forest on the eastern escarpment where mountain nyala habitat is still largely intact and undisturbed.
Proceeds from the sale of his original artwork will be donated to TMF through the Banovich Wildscape Fund, which fosters cooperative efforts to conserve the Earth's wild places to benefit the wildlife and people that live there. The proceeds will be used to support TMF's efforts related mountain nyala research, conservation, and public awareness.
