Twenty-two women receive small-business loans
In November, the Association for Sustainable Peace and Social Progress (ASPASP), TMF's partner in the women's small-business loan program, enthusiastically informed us of its progress. An expert in micro-financing enterprises was sent to Dinsho to train the facilitator and the 20 women selected to receive loans. After the training, 15 women agreed to take the loan; the other five decided to wait until they had observed the success of those with the loans. Each woman received about $50.
In a follow-up report, Wodajo, the ASPASP coordinator, advised us that the last five women changed their minds and have received the loan as well as two additional women. Twenty-two women have now received a small-business loan. The women will meet regularly with the facilitator for feedback and encouragement.
